Qigong for Self-Care

Qigong (also written as Chi Kung) is an ancient  system of body and mind health originating in China centuries ago.  It is similar and related to Tai Chi.

Based on the same principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine used in acupressure or shiatsu or tuina, these self-care techniques establish proper body mechanics to use during massage, as well as provide proven tools for taking care of your physical body, as well as your heart-mind.

Reinforce good posture, diaphragmatic breathing, relaxation and focusing your attention, while doing gentle fluid movements that are easy and enjoyable. ANYONE can practice qigong, you do not need to be flexible or athletic (though if you are, qigong will enhance your health in unexpected ways).

We will review the philosophy underlying TCM as it relates to qigong, and practice throughout the day with seated, standing, and walking qigong movements. You will learn classic techniques to settle, cleanse, circulate, and build your qi (or chi) so that you are more grounded and centered and relaxed and energized

Excellent for massage therapists or other bodyworkers, or anyone wanting to focus on learning qigong for overall self-care..

Work skillfully with your natural energy to enhance your overall vitality! As Dr. Mehmet Oz said to Oprah Winfrey, "If you want to live to be 100, practice Qigong."
